glitter

Wow! I haven't been on here in a while!

So I've started doing resin crafting. It is a bit challenging, but it's getting easier and it's A LOT of fun! I'll post some pictures on here as soon as I have more successful attempts. I did make a glittery ice cream necklace that is pretty cute. I'm proud of it cause it's my first victory. I have a few shipments of some more supplies coming in soon. I bought molds and jewelry making supplies...the whole shebang. It's really becoming a hobby of mine. It's kind of crazy because this stuff takes ALOT of patience, of which I have none. But I'm loving it.

Been going to a whole bunch of fun concerts...Incubus, No Doubt, KC and the Sunshine Band...and I have a few more coming up...The Aquabats, Blink 182, Green Day...it's all very fun.

I've come to a halt in my education. I'm no longer interested in school, unfortunately. I'm contemplating taking a semester off. We'll see what happens.

I've really nothing else to talk to about right now. Everything is going great!

Hope everyone is well!

the only one left

I am officially the only one out of my friends whom I see regularly that is not 21. Anees turned 21 on Wednesday March 4th. We went to Disneyland and he got his free Birthday Fun Card loaded with $69 to spend on whatever his heart desired. He has an annual pass so he got this in place of free admission on his birthday. We had a great time riding a few rides and eating a really yummy dinner. Later that night we headed back to Anees' place to play Donkey Kong Jenga with Brett and Zack whilst donning mustaches. It was pretty spectacular.

On Saturday March 7th we went back to the land with Brett and Zack (and my mom and aunt) in tow. We went to Club 33 and had a major blast all day.

When Anees, Brett, mom and I rode Space Mountain it stopped and we had to be pushed back to the station. We got to ride it again within a few minutes. Apparently the controller released too many cars on the track at one time. Luckily for the little cast member that came to help us we were almost at the end of the ride.

After that we went on the Teacups and managed to somehow squeeze into one teacup. It sure was a feat but we pulled it off. We spun out of control and took whacky pictures. For the first time that I can remember I felt pretty dizzy afterwards.

At the very end of the night we ran into the infamous Maynard. He told us stories, sang us a song and made us dance like crazy people (hence the picture). We had such a great time that day.

Tonight I have photo class. I'll be printing some photos for my advertising assignment as well as hopfully printing some of my color negatives. I'll definitely post some of the prints up here as soon as I make them :]

Holgawood

This weekend was pretty successful. Friday started out pretty rough. All was going relatively well until Anees and I got to French 2 class. Madame Cummings announced that she only had room for fourty students and happened to have fourty-nine that wanted to be in the class. Some, including Anees and I, were officially enrolled. The rest were waitlisted or trying to add. Instead of just saying "SORRY, TRY AGAIN!" to those who didn't enroll, they hired another French professor who has taught at Brown to come in and teach a second section of the course in the same time slot which they would move half of the class to.

Madame Cummings did a lottery drawing to find out who would transfer to the new class and unfortunately I won. Anees offered up his spot in Madame Cumming's class so we could remain together, but now we're both miserable. We hated the change so much that we went back to Madame to request a change of heart and basically beg our way back in. She's having us attend the new class for the day then if we still really dislike it we'll hold a meeting with her and she'll see what she can do to get us back in.

So after finding out all this craziness I get a phone call from Brett explaining that Zack cancelled on the Zoo because and had a number of different excuses. I was pretty frustrated because I was already upset over the French thing. The day only got better...upon arriving to my car Anees and I noticed it looked a little lopsided. My rear driver's side tire was completely flat. I ran over a huge nail. So I started crying because I was so upset.

I called AAA and they sent out a guy to take off the tire and put on my spare. He was really nice and did the job really quick. After I got all my things together I started my car and we headed off to join Brett for lunch. We moved about two parking spaces towards the exit and my car was wobbling. I turned off the engine and got out to see what was wrong and what do you know? My spare was flat. I broke into hysterical laughter. I couldn't help myself. It was too bad to be true. So I called AAA again, they sent out another guy and this time he drove us to a tire repair shop to get my tire patched and then he put it back on my car. All I had to do was go to a tire shop and get my spare fixed.

THAT wasn't going to happen. My spare was too old to be legally repaired so I had to order a new one. Well my wheel and tire size aren't standard so it would've taken two weeks and $130 to get it.

Later that night mom, Anees and I went to see Madea Goes To Jail. Very funny stuff. Afterwards we had dinner at Jerry's Deli. Anees and I had a late lunch so we shared a mozzarella stick appetizer and a VERY YUMMY banana split. We were supposed to go to the zoo so Anees spent the night and awaited the next day's fun.

But once Saturday came we found out Brett cancelled on us so we ended up just going to Freestyle Photography and spent a day in Hollywood on a photoventure. At Freestyle I bought a purple Holga 120N, color filters and split image filters. We had alot of fun in Hollyweird. We even picked up some supplies for the Indian photoshoot from the Hollywood Costume and Toy shop. They were setting up for the Oscars so we took some shots of that. When we were tired of it all we went back home and had a nice pasta and chicken dinner, then passed out on my bed.

Sunday mom, Anees and I went to lunch with my grandma and her friends Blanche and Bob. Afterwards we went shopping then watched the Oscars. All in all the weekend was ok.

I spent some one on one Wonder Twin time with Brett yesterday. We just shopped and watched Mystery Science Theatre 3000, but it was nice to just chill out and talk. Unfortunately I ended up feeling pretty sick last night...but I'm hoping that clears up over the course of the week.

This week I have alot to do. I finally get to develop and make prints again (yay!), so that's awesome...we've petitioned to get back inot French with Madame Cummings and we have a meeting tomorrow where we'll find out how that went. I have to do some English homework (yes, I'm already almost behind....haha) and we started on some new software at work so this week is going to be CRAZY! Hopefully the weekend will make it worth it. Anees, Brett and I are supposed to go to Knott's on Saturday. That should be pretty fun. I rarely ever go when it's not Halloween Haunt, so it'll be cool. We'll see how it all goes!

Until next time......

spinning potatoes

The past weekend was alot of fun. I spent some time with people I haven't hungout with in a while and it was pretty great.

Friday I went with my mom to see Confessions of a Shopaholic and we dragged Anees along. I LOVED IT! It's your typicak chick flick filled with girly gasps from the audience and your typical YOU CHANGED MY ENTIRE LIFE love scenario. I absolutely adored it. Anees and I parted ways with mom and we were supposed to meet Brett, Zack, Jon and Wendy for Friday the 13th. Due to a lack of planning we ended up not seeing the film at all as all showings were sold out. Instead we stood around in the rain for close to an hour talking about nothing before heading to Brett's house to continue the fun. We met up with David there and the seven of us just sat around all night talking about everything and nothing. Zack expressed interest in my high tolerance for pain as well as commented on his lack of it while I poored candle wax on my hand to keep myself occupied while I was speaking. Brett turned us into DJs and world painters with his iPhone. Jon, Wendy and Anees had their own conversation going on. What was said, I'm not too sure. David andI spoke of movies and the underrated amazingness that is Almost Famous. We all just sat back and relaxed. It was nice.

Saturday was Valentine's Day. Anees and I spent the entire day to ourselves laying around together, having a yummy lunch at Po' Folks, shopping, riding rides and having a romantic dinner at Blue Bayou in Disneyland. There were a few kinks in the day (such as really rude people and a group stealing our reservation causing a delay in our dining experience) but all in all it was amazing. I hope everyone else had a great Valentine's Day too. After a ride on the Haunted Mansion we headed to my house where we passed out in each others arms.

Sunday morning we woke up to my mom asking if we wanted to meet with Kathy, Gary, Stevie and Beth at Disneyland. We were up for it so we got up and got out. We opted for a late lunch at Po' Folks since mom hadn't been in a log time and Anees and I are in love with the place. At the restaurant Anees won me a Mr. Potato Head out of the crane. Mom thought we should take him on a photo safari of sorts, so we did. We took Mr. Potato Head on a grand adventure of Disneyland, after he enjoyed his lunch at Po' Folks, of course. To see more of Mr. Potato Head's adventures check out my Flickr! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dannyelfmanssecret/sets/72157613917242499/) We had a great time meeting up with everyone at Disneyland. We even got to see people we didn't expect to see like Wendy, Cody, Robin and Eric. We all had a blast coming up with photo ops for Mr. Potato Head. I think Anees and I need to take him on more photo adventures and create a lovely little compilation of humorous photos.

School starts up again today. I have Photography tonight, then spread out over the week I have French 2, English 1 and Economics 5. I'm kind of excited to be back in school again, but I'm also kind of not looking forward to the stress induced by working, going to school, studying and maintaining a decent relationship with all my friends and boyfriend. It's hard and my brain fizzles.

THIS COMING WEEKEND!!! will be lots of fun, as always. Friday Anees, mom and I are supposed to go see Madea Goes To Jail. I'm excited about that. I love those movies and it looks really funny. Saturday Brett, Anees, Zack and I are going to the L.A. Zoo. I've never been there with them so it should be interesting, to say the least. I'm looking forward to the photo adventures that lay ahead. I'm not sure what's on for Sunday but I'll find something to do. I can't wait.

Until next time......

The Red Piano

April is going to be a good month! Two of my lifetime goals will be reached. On April 11th I will be driving to Joshua Tree blasting U2's Joshua Tree (as you already know). This just added! Saturday April 18th! I will be attending Elton John's The Red Piano! Yes, that's right! I GET TO SEE ELTON JOHN!!!!! I could die of excitement. I mean it! It is going to be soooooooooooooo amazing. Apparently there's alot of suggestive imagery...but come on, it's Vegas. Who cares?

Random tidbit...I found a Pocahontas Pez at the Disney store and it excited me.

Valentine's Day is tomorrow! I found these really cute floral lacey-like tights at Target to go under my dress. They look so much better and way more feminine than my fishnets. I have a dilemma though. The outfit looks really good with my black Isaac Mizrahi heels, but I can't walk well in heels and I DON'T want to walk around Disneyland in heels...but they look good. My Chucks look good with the outfit too, but they make the dress more casual. I'm thinking of sticking with the Chucks so I don't die of clumsiness.

I commissioned a drawing through a friend on DeviantArt for my boyfriend's anniversary gift. I just received it this morning and I must say I rather like it. That's it above, if you haven't already guessed. What do you think?

Going back to the topic of tomorrow, I have a photoshoot planned...that should be tons of fun. I haven't had one for a while so I'm hoping for the best.

Have a Great Weekend and a Great Valentine's Day!!

Alot of Disney and ALOT more Romance....

Lately I've been interested in Disney collector's figurines. I have a few collectible figures, but my collection isn't worth mentioning. Every time my mom and I or my boyfriend and I go to Disneyland we have to stop in this shop called Disneyana, a showcase of all things "Collectible Disney." I've always considered it's treasures to be "pretty to look at", but they've never intrigued me this much. The above four are at the top of my wishlist.

I've taken part in an exchange called the BOX OF STUFF exchange. I've been assigned a person and I have to get a 12"x12" flat rate USPS box and fill it with stuff from around my house that I no longer want. Then I have to send this box to the person I was assigned. For participating I will also receive a box from a mystery person...
I haven't mailed it out yet and FRIDAY is the reveal day. I'm going to have to spend a fortune on expediting the shipping. I completely forgot about it. GRRRRR. I always do this to myself. I only hope that my person gets their box on time. I would feel terrible if they had nothing to open on Friday.

A while back my grandmother gave me a folder filled with Hollywood Fan Magazines from 1937. I guess they belonged to a friend of hers' mother...? Anyways, I'm completely obsessed with them. They're gorgeous. They're filled with glamour portraits and hilarious bra and anti-pimple cream ads. They have comics about how guys don't like you because you're not pretty, but a simple yeast cake will help that! They're absolutely fabulous. I almost had half a mind to cut them up but I decided upon scanning them instead. My favorite magazines of the bunch are the Screen Romances ones. They're just awesome, I can't say that enough.

Valentine's Day is almost here! I am VERY excited about this one. My boyfriend and I have decided to take advantage of Disney's WHAT WILL YOU CELEBRATE? campaign. They have a Romantic Dinner for Two package available at their nicer restaurants and we have booked a dinner Saturday night at 8:40 p.m. at the Blue Bayou Restaurant. We get champagne or sparkling cider in toasting flutes, a hand designed meal by the chef as well as an appetzer of our choice, and a hand designed dessert by the chef exclusive to the package. Then when the night is over we get to keep the toasting flutes as a souvenir. It's a bit on the pricey side but we thought it would be romantic and alot of fun. Hope everyone enjoys theirs!

Feeling Fringy

These are my most recent purchases. I got a nice paycheck today and shortly after I paid my bills I had an itch to do some shopping. Here's my damage thus far. $37.39 on forever21.com later I ended up with these three beauties. Can't wait to do some more damage tonight and tomorrow!

UPDATE:

At lunch I went to Target in search of a Dinosaur Cakette pan that Justine found. My boyfriend decided to pick that up while I bought a black cardigan as well as a tank top that is pretty cute.
More shopping tonight/tomorrow! Hooray for big paychecks!!!
